The Desktop Views preferences are a set of options that allow users to customize how QuickBooks displays information, it is good to look at these settings over to find the settings that work best for you.
- View
- The view preference allows you to select one window or multiple windows. The default is multiple windows and it is suggested that you keep it that way. One window view means that you can only open one screen at a time. However, this setting does help to keep some people organized. Try it out to see which one you like. You can always change it back later.
- Desktop views Options
- Save When Closing Company
- Selecting this option will save the workspace, which is all of the windows you currently have open in QuickBooks. When you re-open the company, the workspace will look exactly as you left it.
- Save Current Desktop
- If you have a certain workspace that you would like to start with each time you open the company, set up the windows as you like them, then select this option. Each time you open the company those windows will be opened
- Don’t Save the Desktop
- Choosing not to save the Desktop Views at all will display an empty workspace each time you open the company
- Save When Closing Company
- Show Home Page When Opening a Company File
- Uncheck this box if you do not want to see the QuickBooks Home Page every time you open a company file
- Show Getting Started Window
- Uncheck this box if you do not want to see the QuickBooks Getting Started window every time you open a company file
