Q: I have trouble keeping track of real estate taxes & accrued real estate taxes. What is the proper way to enter and track this account?

A: To track real estate taxes on an accrual basis, enter your payment into the Balance Sheet account. Create a real estate escrow account as an Other Current Asset.

Then, offset the Balance Sheet account to the expense account monthly or annually.
