Utilities Paid to Landlord

Payments To The Landlord

Q: Do I include utilities I pay to my landlord in the 1099MISC as rent paid or nonemployee comp or do I not include? Utilities paid with a separate check payable to landlord.

A: I do not think so, but ask your accountant.  Check the IRS website for more details. File your 1099 online  no need for 1096.
