QuickBooks – Business Deadlines and Tasks

Rent Vacation Property

Managing a business’s finances in addition to running the business can be a daunting task. With IRS deadlines each year and year-end tasks, anyone could get confused and miss a deadline here and there.

QuickBooks does not want you to do that! Intuit has a few tools to make sure you’re on track to meet IRS and other business deadlines. Keep in mind, you can always add these deadlines onto the Calendar in QuickBooks 2012.

The Alerts Manager

To access the Alerts Manager, open the Company menu and select Alerts Manager. Alerts remind you of any important QuickBooks or business tasks. I think the Alerts Manager is handy because of the IRS deadlines listed. No one wants to get in trouble with the IRS for missed deadlines but not everyone has these dates memorized. QuickBooks reminds you of these tasks before they’re due. The links in the message column take you to the form in QuickBooks or the website where you can file or pay taxes (external links are marked by the lightening bolt). This is definitely something I would add to my Favorites menu.
